Exhibition for Explorer Elementary is this Wednesday. The kids are just about done with their project and so far everything is going really well. Most groups are done, the only thing left to do is the Sugar Group and a little work on the body diagrams.
While we pull groups to finish up projects, the students usually play math games, do writer's workshop, or learn on their tablets. These are things that they do everyday but extra time on these things let's us get more work done on the exhibition project without being distracted by the kids.

The kids have spent a ton of time researching the body's systems and nutritional foods. They've worked so hard and I'm very excited to have them present their work at exhibition. Some kids still have trouble remembering a lot of what they learned but we practice throughout the day. I'm getting more used to addressing the kids the way Explorer wants adults to. I've learned that with some kids though, it's better to be firm and demanding, or else they just won't listen at all. I think they kids really like me. Some more than others, but I think that's because I spend more time with certain kids because they're more open or need more help than other kids. I've always loved working with kids before, mostly babies, but this so far has shown me how much I really enjoy being around and helping children. It's very tiring, I don't have as much energy as them but they are so adorable and imaginative and wonderful, I can't help but want to be around them more and help them grow as much as possible. I've been around them for only a few weeks but I already know so much about most of them. Probably because they love to talk so much, mostly about themselves. I'm still trying to be firm but caring and gentle with them, it's hard because I don't have much patience but I'm definitely improving everyday.
Exhibition went really well, the room was completely crowded. I helped cut up vegetable samples for the kids to hand to the adults. We rehearsed all day and some kids were really nervous but during exhibition it went so well. They were answering questions the best they could and if they struggles their group would help out. It was really sweet.
